New smut-well, not really, it's an erotic horror excerpt from "Third Rung of Hell"
There are hundreds of self-improvement books/how to make it in show biz books written every year. Most of them are fluff, but I think this gal (a writer for the New York Post, no less) has summed up the basic tenets of how to lead a fufilling life with this Top 10.. #7 is the one that trips up, most people. If I may add my two cents, it's the people who are LESS than you that will put you down and trip you up. So NEVER SETTLE.

Quote of the day:
"It's like living with a hybrid of your Grandma, the Comic Book Guy from "The Simpsons," and a cartoon character with steam coming out of his ears!! I need a break!"

I got royalties yesterday!! Amazing!! Guess I better hurry up and finish writing more smut, huh? Just converted a bunch of older stuff from Word 95 to 2000. One of the stories is an historical western-and I even found a medical thriller. Of course they were never finished due to intruding day jobs and boyfriends, but now that I don't have those problems anymore, who knows? They might finally be completed.
BTW, I usually don't ask but...

I've started a new pic page here, though it might be a good idea to buy a camera that doesn't whitewash every picture..yee gads, I'm white enough!

I'm getting my eyebrows either waxed or threaded this weekend. Next thing you know I'll be drawing em on for that startling Marilyn Manson look. I've never been into trendy beauty fads, but I'll try this once and see how it goes.. funny thing is, a lot of the women I talk to think Pamela Anderson is the pinnacle of feminine beauty. (Especially bored upper middle class women and desperate housewives from Midwestern suburbs.) Most hetrosexual men seem to disagree, choosing brunettes and more natural looking, non plastic women as their favorite beauties.

Time marches on. From an article in the University of Pennsylvania student newspaper.
College freshman Rachel Aresty, a member of the online group, said she has never heard of Sonic Youth, a group which opened for artist George Clinton at the 1995 Spring Fling concert.
"This is our first year at Penn; I feel like it's all hyped up," Aresty said. "Cornell has Snoop Dogg -- why can't we get someone good like that?"

OK, I'll get the boring promo out of the way first. I'm a featured author at The Romance Studio Blue this month. There's an interview and everything!! http://www.theromancestudio.com/blue/who6.php
From the "Don't You Hate It When People Dote on their Friggin' Cats? Get A Life" Dept..
We celebrated Dax's 10th birthday yesterday. Well, we don't know his exact date of birt, but April Fool's Day seemed like a good time to celebrate the b-day of the world's dumbest cat. So we bought him a new "bio-dome" shaped litter box, cat nip (which he loves! Gets him stoned) and gourmet cat food. Let's face it, he doesn't have much longer, might as well make the rest of his stay pleasant..
Get this. I am going straight from my brother's suburban wedding to NYC to tape the TV show AND in the middle of all the life-affirming, woman empowering chatter I'll take a break to see Motorhead and Monster Magnet at BB Kings. 'Course, I'll be the only female there, and the oldest person (Next to Lemmy) in attendance. It's a dirty job, but someone has to do it...

Publishing News-Just sent in the contract for "Seduced And Abandoned", my erotic short story collection for Renaissance E-Books. Look for a revamp of the "Erotica" section of my site in the next week or so. I'll be replacing many of the older stories with brand new ones, including "Scorpio In Venus" and excerpts from "The Devil In New Orleans."

Saw Marianne Faithfull in concert last night at the Henry Fonda Theater in L.A. She did most of the songs from "Broken English", "As Tears Go By" and "Sister Morphine", plus songs from her new album "Before The Poison." She was incredible, to put it mildly. There was such power and emotion in her voice, one couldn't help but be riveted by it, and her band was top-notch. Full review T/K.

I read on the Velvet Rope that Arrow 93 in L.A. changed their M. O. to an allegedly hip, no DJ, eclectic song selection type format. So I tuned in for a split second. I heard Sheryl Crowe's "Soak Up The Sun." Oopsy!! You had your chance and you blew it, folks.
An entertainment business blind (and deaf and dumb as well) item I recently received courtesy of music biz gadabout B. Butthead. Seems he's peeved about not getting on the guestlist for certain shows promoted by a certain entity..
Dear Sir:
I wish to express my disgust at the way you procure phony, brown nosing snobs and 18 year old hookers to attend your events while duping decent, hardworking citizens out of chances to attend said events. Your methods are particularly loathsome, even for L.A.
See you in hell,
B. Butthead, Esq.

The horror! A doughnut truck overturned on Sunset & Gower. It's been sitting there for close to 5 hours. It's like a scene from an episode of the Simpsons. One could imagine Homer running over to the truck, crying. "Oh, those poor little doughnuts never hurt anyone. Why, God, why!!"
Rachel Morse is the winner of the St. Pat's Day Contest-she'll receive a copy of Flogging Molly's "Within A Mile of Home." Congrats, Rachel!

It’s been an eventful week.. Went to Hustler Hollywood yesterday(no I didn’t bring a shopping cart). I like the stuffed animals with saucy appendages. They were cute. Best T-shirt slogan “I Fucked Your Mom and All I Got Was This Lousy T-shirt.”
Afterwards, went out for pizza at Frankie and Johnny’s. (Try the white spinach pizza! ) I still can’t believe I paid $8 to park for 2 hours..How did that happen?
Went to the Watusi Rodeo show at the King King last Friday. And you thought I only saw old metal bands! Deana Carter and Tonya Watts did a great version of “Love Hurts”, John Doe played a stellar set before heading off on tour (& South by Southwest). BTW, “The Losing Kind” sounds like a hit to me. Peter Case, Dave Alvin, Austin Hanks and many others performed..
Stalker News from New York- Has anybody ever written a book about the psychology of stalkers?? Why are they popping up everywhere suddenly? It appears that a 50ish female attorney is after a friend’s husband. Her M.O. included purposely walking behind his car as he was backing up. I suppose she figured she could sue him and that would be a good way to keep him in her life. My friend’s comment “She can have him.”

A few days ago, I found out that the BASTARDS who fired me because I was injured in a car accident sold their magazine. I have no idea who they sold it to or for how much. What's interesting is that if the new owners decide to keep on the current employees, I know that 3 of them (the males) won't be able to hack it in a "real" company. Did I ever mention that one of these guys was the most inept person I had ever worked with? And I've worked for hundreds of companies via temping, freelancing and just regular 9-5 office jobs, so that's saying a lot.

It's been awhile since I've done this-so how about some assorted strange but true quotes-
"I learned something from this experience-NEVER sleep with anyone you're not physically attracted to."
"Hey,she even whizzed in our parking lot-so why should I pay to see her? I could get in for free."
"HEY-HE ALWAYS SAYS THAT--HE DIDN'T MEAN FROM A GUY!!"
"See, this is why you never get ahead in life. Your best friend sleeps with fat, pudgy, boring guys WHO HAVE MONEY. See, she's smart. You gotta go for the young studs and the -God forbid- musicians and creative types. You're going to die poor!!"
"Yeah, but I'll die with a smile on my face."
"OK, this is a loud, pushy Alpha female who wears too much makeup. Why are you going to consort with your natural enemy? This is not a good move."
"Is your stalker gonna be here?"

Will wonders never cease-I went out 2 nights in a row this week. Thursday, Troy and I saw John Doe play a solo set at Largo. Afterwards, we had some delicious Silician pizza from Damiano's. On Wed, I saw The Vacation and S'coolgirls at the King King.(See review under "Non-fiction")
I finally figured out why I've had such a hard time finishing some of my romance novels. Absent or improper muses!!! I have taken care of these omissions, and am finishing up "Tables Turned" te last story in "Seduced And Abandoned." I know have 3 weeks to finish the rest of my romances before going to New York to work on a TV show. And did I mention I have interviews to transcribe?
Hey, at least I'm keeping out of trouble..

What sort of idiot keeps a tiger in their backyard "reserve", then lets it escape, doesn't notify animal control, ultimately resulting in the poor animal being killed? According to the article below, the tiger was declawed and raised in captivity and still it was killed..

OK, just came across this story in the Chicago Sun-Times. Keep in mind that the people involved are doctors. This sounds suspiciously like a former episode of "The Practice", though.
